The Gables Hotel was known as the Bristol Inn from October 2004. Lawrence Dallaglio, the former England rugby captain, was guest of honour at the opening of the Bristol Inn. Refurbishment cost half a million pound.
By 2007 the hotel was known as the Gables again.
