The Swinging Plaice was the name of a pub in Gloucester’s Eastgate market. It opened in November 1968. The fishy title was chosen because the pub incorporated a fish bar and was only a few yards away from the fish market. The Swinging Plaice had a downstairs discotheque which was painted scarlet when it first opened.
