The Star Inn was located a few yards from the Jovial Forester. The old photograph reproduced below shows the pub landlord, Albert French, standing by the front door in classic Edwardian garb – flat cap, waistcoat, chain and pipe!

The building is now a desirable private residence and the front facade has been altered. The old front door has been blocked off and the windows have been enlarged.
