Referred to as the Red Cow in the 1881 census. I cannot help thinking that the postal address of this pub must have caused some amusement – The Cow, Sodbury, Glos ! The pub had a picture of a cow on the gable above the pair of upstairs windows. The second gable to the left was added later when the building was absorbed into a mill. The buildings were at the western extremity of Chipping Sodbury. There are references to the pub being in Old Sodbury. The mill is still trading and the modern address is A. Nichols (Cow Mills) Ltd. Millers and Corn Merchants, Station Road, Chipping Sodbury.
