Gloucester Citizen, Thursday 19th October 1911 – Fire at a Charfield Inn: The Wotton-under-Edge Fire Brigade received a call to a fire at the Talbot Arms, Charfield, on Wednesday night. When the Brigade arrived, however, most of the trouble had been overcome, willing helpers keeping the fire, which broke out in the parlour, from spreading further than the ground floor. Considerable damage was done by fire and water.
