Numbered 26 Pittville Street in 1891. The licence of the British Rifleman was refused in 1929.
Cheltenham Original Brewery were the owners of the British Rifleman in 1891 and 1903. Licensed as a beer house it had an annual rateable value of £21.5s.0d.

The earliest I found the British Rifleman actually named in a directory listing was 1872-3 Royal Directory when George Dauncey was landlord.
However, in the 1852 Edwards Directory W. Hathaway is listed against a Porter Store at 26 Pittville Street – the British Rifleman’s address.
Similarly E. Smith in the 1862 Annuaire and R. Barnett in the 1863 Annuaire

1922 and 1927 Built-Leonard S.C. Nash – also 1928 Kelly’s, 1929 Built-Leonard and 1930 Kelly’s
By the time of the 1931 Kelly’s no. 26 was Miss E.M. Jenkins, confectioner
26 Pittville Street would have been on the east side, second in from the High Street – roughly where the back end of the Cornish Bakery is now I would say.
