Gloucester Journal, 9th April 1853: From an uttering a forged note case.
Witness said he wanted his property; that the prisoner had £4 6s of his good money. Prisoner said he was going to have a glass of beer, and asked witness if he would have one, but witness declined. Prisoner on finding him determined, returned him the £4 6s. Witness then demanded 14s. for the boots, but the prisoner said he had no money, but his cart was at the Full Moon in Full Moon- street, and if he came with him he would return the boots to him. The prisoner suggested witness should put on his hat, but he went with him to Full Moon-street as he was. On approaching the street, witness saw the other man about 300 yards off, and on seeing witness and the prisoner he went off in another direction. On inquiring at the Moon, nothing was known of the prisoner.
