This account is probably not connected to the White Horse at all, but I thought I would include it for interest.

Gloucestershire Chronicle. February 19th 1870. Hawkesbury. Frightful Accident. Recently a man known as William Tuck in the employ of Mr Charles Minett of Upper Chalkley Farm in this parish accidently fell headlong into a mash tub containing boiling wort which he had brewed. The unfortunate man was badly scolded and when stripped portions of his flesh were adhering to his clothes. He died on Monday. The deceased has left a widow and several children to which an addition has been made since the accident.
