Queens Buildings ran between the High Street and Albion Street, along the eastern side of Wellington Passage where the Wellington Vaults were located. The Wellington was at no 3 Queens Buildings and the Running Horse at No.12. The 1872-3 Royal Directory gives reference to the Running Horse which was owned by the Coome Family.
To give a geographical location, Queens Buildings were located approximately where the entrance to John Lewis car park is in Albion Street, but the site has long been lost. John Lewis superstore now occupies the plot.
