Classified and licensed as an ale house it had an annual rateable value of £42.10s.0d. There is no mention of the Royal Victoria Stores in the 1903 petty sessional divisional records.

The landlord of the Royal Victoria Stores as listed in the 1878 directory is Charles Hughes. Subsequent references in 1883 and 1891 are for Charles William Hughes. Could Charles W. Hughes be Charles Hughes Jnr., or are they the same person?
