The Old House at Home was a picturesque 17th century half-timbered traditional beerhouse. A photograph of the black and white building with its immaculately kept front garden is the epitomy of the classic English pub. A reference to the Old House at Home (1873) documents the pub as being ‘near the tithe barn’. The premises were closed in 1913, no doubt because of Lloyd George’s obsession to reduce drunkeness. The property is now a private residence
