The George Inn, on the eastern side of St John Street, was situated almost directly opposite the White Swan. There is a reference to the George Inn in 1839 but it appears to have closed by the time the enumerators compiled the list of Gloucestershire licensed premises in 1891.
The site is now occupied by Cinnamons Indian Restaurant & Takeaway at 12 St John Street. The Dog House micro-pub is almost directly opposite Cinnamons.
