The Raven Tavern, a wonderful 16th century timber framed building in Hare Lane, is now in use as a Senior Citizens of Gloucester club (Raven Centre).

Hare Lane was once the main thoroughfare out of Gloucester to the north. Worcester Street was constructed at the beginning of the 19th century and took the traffic away from Hare Lane. The Raven Tavern had probably closed by this time. In the late 1930’s most of the buildings in Hare Lane were demolished, but the old Raven Tavern survived.
