Kemble did not have a pub until 1946 when the Coffee Tavern, outside the Great Western Railway Station on the Cheltenham to Swindon line, became fully licensed and became the Tavern Inn. Arkell’s Kingsdown Brewery bought the pub five years later in 1951.
