Waikiki Wine Club was a 1960’s bar in the cellar of what is now Wesley Barrell furniture shop in Queens Circus, Montpellier. It closed around 1970. The cellar bar was opened by Mike Luckman in about 1958. It was painted black. The juke-box played jazz with a selection of the popular hits of the day. The Cheltenham Vespa Club made it their base. It had some famous visitors including Little Richard, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee. Brian Jones, later of the Rolling Stones, was a regular at the Waikiki Wine Club.
