I believe that the original pub called the Star was demolished and rebuilt on the same site by Stroud Brewery Company c.1903.

The Star Inn closed down during the summer of 1984. The building is still easily recognisable as a West Country Ales Best in the West ceramic plaque remains in situ. There is also a distinctive and unusual tankard hung on a metal bracket.
