Gloucester Journal, January 18th 1873: Mr Thomas Harris, of the Shipwrights Arms, Bearland, was granted an extension until 3am to provide accommodation for the cabmen engaged on the Military Ball at the Shire Hall.

Gloucester Citizen: April 5th, 1879 – City Police: Thomas Harris, landlord of the Shipwright’s Arms, was charged with being drunk and creating a disturbance in that house. Fined 10s. with costs, or 14 days.
