The Citizen: Monday, December 5th 1983 – The owners of Rumours wine bar and restaurant in Gloucester’s Worcester Street have applied for change of use to a public house. The application in respect of the premises at 38 Worcester Street has been submitted to Gloucester City Council.
Twenty firemen attended an enormous blaze at the three-story restaurant on Sunday August 26th 1984. Although no-one was injured the ground floor, bar restaurant and first floor areas were all extensively damaged. The blaze took several hours to bring under control. The estimated damage to the property was £40,000. The restaurant was vacant and had been on the market for some time with an asking price of £70,000 for the leasehold.
