Cheltenham Original Brewery were the owners of the Regent Inn in 1891 and 1903. The annual rateable value of the licensed beer house remained constant throughout those twelve years at £29.15s.0d.

There was a beer house in Regent Street called the Spotted Horse. Martin Edwards, a fellow pub historian, has identified the pub in a list he has compiled of Cheltenham pubs in the early reign of Queen Victoria – in 1844. Could the Spotted Horse be an earlier name for the Regent Inn?

Landlords of the Regent include:

1830 John Burnett (Regent Hotel, Regent Street)

1883 W.H. Browning

1891 Charles Henry Spires

1902,1903  Thirza Packer
