The Red Lion was on the corner of the B4058 and Church Lane known as Long Cross. It is now a private house called the Old Red Lion.

This photo shows the very old oak tree that was in the middle of the main road (B4058) outside the Red Lion until it was felled in the early 1960’s. Traffic would go either side of it.
