Silver Street no longer exists in Stroud. It was located where Parliament Street is now. Before slum clearances took place Silver Street extended eastwards from Tower Hill.

William Niblett, landlord of the New Inn in 1903, was recorded as being at the Golden Fleece a year earlier.
