The New Inn, on the A433, is now trading as the Holford Arms. The name refers to the wealthy landowners of nearby Westonbirt estate who established the world famous arboretum. The pub, within the parish of Sherston, is actually in Wiltshire, the county boundary runs through the pub car park! Consequently the licensing records of the New Inn are held by the County of Wiltshire.

Citizen Tuesday, August 27th 1991: Cowboys and girls will be heading to the Holford Arms in Didmarton next month for the third annual Bluegrass music festival. Attractions include the Cat’s Cradle String Band, Strange Relations and Monroe’s Revenge. Tickets for the festival, from September 6th to 9th, cost £10 in advance and £12 on the day.
