The Citizen: Friday, November 13th 1987 – Inquest on landlord: The inquest on former landlord of the Lamb Inn, Eastcombe, was adjourned yesterday. Mr Ron Saunders (60) died in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital at the weekend. The inquest was adjourned until March 18th.

The Lamb Inn is situated at the north end of Eastcombe.  In April 2000 the Lamb Inn was refurbished by owners, Pubmaster. During the makeover the old extension at the front the pub was replaced with a new structure. During the reconstruction the West Country Ales ceramic plaque that adorned the old building disappeared. The original free standing inn sign was also replaced with a new one. The old pub sign dated back to the days of West Country Breweries and had the ‘castle’ emblem in the decorative ironwork. Perhaps both the brewery plaque and the pub sign bracket ended up in the builders skip!
