The Kingsbridge Inn was previously known as the Parrot and Alligator and it opened in 1996. Iain Gaynor, the proprietor, came from Borneo and drank in the local missionary post which was known as the Parrot and Alligator. When he moved back to England he adopted the name for his new pub. Iain was very keen on traditional beer and once sold a beer called Parrot Dropping! (brewed by Wychwood Brewery).

The pub is on the banks of the River Windrush, at the centre of the picturesque village of Bourton on the Water. It gets very busy with tourists during the summer months.

The Kingsbridge Inn is now owned by Marstons. Wychwood Brewery is part of their portfolio and it is likely that Wychwood beers are available at the Kingsbridge Inn (not necessarily Parrot Dropping though!)
