Martin Edwards has compiled a list of licensed premises in Cheltenham in 1844 in which he includes a beer house called the Kings Head in Upper Alstone.
The Kings Arms in Gloucester Road (also described as being in Upper Alstone) is also included in the list. Did a pub called the Kings Head trade concurrently with the Kings Arms?
I would suggest that the reference to the Kings Head may be an erroneous listing, or simply a duplication of the Kings Arms.
