The Kings Head, tucked away down a side lane, is currently closed. At the time of writing (October 2025) its future is uncertain.

Stroud News & Journal (online), 22nd October 2025:
The Kings Head in France Lynch is closing as the level of business ‘over recent months has become unsustainable.’ The owners of the The Kings Head in France Lynch made the announcement on 24th October 2025, stating that it would be shut for the ‘foreseeable future.’
In a heartfelt message, they expressed their gratitude to their team and the community for their support.
The message read: “It’s with heavy hearts that we have made the difficult decision to close The Kings Head for the foreseeable future. This decision has been made purely because the level of business over recent months has become unsustainable. We’d like to thank our hardworking team, who have supported us and served our customers with dedication and care. It’s been a real joy to work alongside local young people, to help them learn and, often, to learn from them too. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
“We know that for many of you, The Kings Head has been a special place for years, full of memories and friendships, and we feel exactly the same way. It’s been an honour and a privilege to be part of its story. Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts. If we’re able to come up with a new plan for the pub’s future under our ownership, we’ll let you know as soon as possible. In the meantime, The Kings Head will remain on the market for sale, and we hope that new owners will come forward soon to give it the next chapter it deserves.”
