The Kings Head had opened by 1848 and was located among the cottages below the tin works. The Kings Head was a free house in 1891 and 1903 but it later passed into the ownership of Arnold Perrett & Co’s Wickwar Brewery. I have found no references to the Kings Head after 1939 suggesting that it had probably closed sometime during or soon after the Second World War. Cheltenham Original Brewery owned the Kings Head in 1939. The tin plate works survived until 1962.
J.C. Phillips was the owner of the Kings Head in 1891 and 1903 when it was licensed as an ale house, free of brewery tie, with an annual rateable value of £9.12s.0d. Closing time was at 10 pm.
