As you come down from Mile End it was at the bottom of the hill on the right hand side, just before the Poolway turnpike. On January 30th 1875 Miss Harriet Morgan, sister of Richard Morgan of the Incline Inn, was hit by the Royal Mail coach which was driving into Coleford. Miss Morgan was very deaf and did not hear the approaching horses and carriage. She was taken into her brothers house with Dr Trotter in attendance, who happened to be passing by, but she died almost immediately.
