Fellow pub and local history enthusiast Martin Edwards has compiled a list of pubs in Cheltenham in 1844. There are many pubs in the list that I previously have never heard of, including the Hop Pole at 4 Sherborne Place – a beer house. Martin has indicated that the property still exists – ‘old setback cottages, but hidden.’
