The building was originally the Lamprey Hotel. After refurbishment into the Lamprey Café Bar the premises changed identity to Therapy (April 2002). In June 2003 the Haus opened as a coffee house, bar, restaurant and night spot. An advert read: ‘4 star treatment on the haus… award winning cappuccinos by day. Al a carte restaurant by night offering contemporary European cuisine. Relax in our bar anytime to enjoy a choice of 30 wines by the glass and 130 spirits.. yours ready to enjoy.’
By April 2007 the Haus had closed down. The venue reopened as the Grill on 7th August 2007.
