In November 1982 the Forrest wine bar was highly praised by the Consumer Association in their ‘Which’ guide. The wine list was singled out as being ‘one of the most attractively produced in the country’.

Ash Vine Brewery of Trudoxhill in Somerset acquired the premises in 1994. It had previously been licensed as the Forrest Wine Bar.

This was only their third tied house. The full range of Ash Vine beers were available at the Fish & Fiddle. The Ash Vine Brewery closed down and the Fish & Fiddle was sold. It became the Hub, a late night live music venue. Hub shut down in September 2006. The owners claimed that lack of support for live music led to its closure. It has since re-opened as Bohemia.
