Converted warehouse in the heart of the historic Docks. Opened on Tuesday 3rd April 1990 at 12 Noon.  In January 2004 the first floor restaurant and ground floor bar had a refurbishment. Now trading as Foster’s on the Docks.


The Citizen, Thursday 7th March 2024 – Lease being offered on waterfront venue: A new lease is being offered on a waterfront bar and restaurant in Gloucester. Doctor Foster’s at Gloucester Docks is being advertised with a £20,000 leasehold. It is being billed as having a capacity for up to 300 people and as being a renowned ‘high trading’ unit. It is being let on a new private lease.

Doctor Foster’s at the Kimberley Warehouse had had long periods of being closed. There will be hopes in the city new life could return to what has been in the past a thriving place. The property is being marketed by Sidney Phillips. It breaks down Doctor Foster’s as having capacity in the main bar and trading area for 80 people, 70 in the conservatory bar / restaurant and 90 on the first floor restaurant.

There is quayside table seating available, but that is subject to a table licence. Doctor Foster’s reopened after the pandemic for a short period. But it has been closed for a while now.


The Citizen, Thursday July 18th 2024 – Dr Foster gastro pub holds official launch party: The new neighbourhood gastro-pub, Dr Foster, kicked off its official opening with an exclusive launch party on 11th July. The owners, A Rule of Tum, welcomed over 200 specially invited guests, to experience the hottest new destination venue in Gloucester, housed in the Kimberley Warehouse in the former industrial heart of the city. The summer soiree was the perfect evening, with delicious light bites from the launch menu, alongside cocktails and live music.
