The 17th century pub is located on the A429 Fosse Way just outside Bourton on the Water.

The annual rateable value of The Coach and Horses rose dramatically in the twelve years from 1891 to 1903. In 1891 it was £8.2s.0d., but this had increased to £24.0s.0d. by 1903.

In 2001 the old stables at the back of the Coach and Horses were converted into letting rooms.
