There were two pubs called the Coach & Horses in the parish of Longborough and both were tied to the Donnington Brewery. The Coach & Horses at Longborough village is about a quarter of a mile to the east of Ganborough. The 1891 and 1903 petty sessional divisional records do not differentiate between the two Coach & Horses, both of which are owned by Richard Iles Arkell of Donnington. It is difficult distinguishing between the two pubs, the details of the Coach & Horses in both Ganborough and Longborough are given below… but which is which?
After an association with the Donnington Brewery that lasted well over a century, the Coach & Horses at Ganborough has closed in recent years and is now in residential use.
Hopefully, the details of the two pubs will be sorted out with further research. This page will also be updated with additional information.
