Fellow pub and local history enthusiast Martin Edwards has identified a licensed premises called the Bayshill Union in St James Square which he suggests was ‘somewhere near the synagogue. An entirely separate entry in 1844 lists Thomas Clark at the Bayshill Inn, 1 St Georges Terrace.
